OMEGA NU ENDOWMENT PROGRAM

In 1991, Omega Nu was gifted with $10,000 by an outgoing president’s family in honor of her tenure as president. The donation was designated for the establishment of a scholarship fund to be managed by the Omega Nu Scholarship Committee. Later that same year, an additional $20,000 was given by another member’s husband, to honor his wife and her achievements in Omega Nu and the Omega Nu Endowment was created. The Omega Nu Endowment has grown over the past 30 years and is now able to fund multiple scholarships for local high school and community college transfer students every year. See the full story of our history here.

Funds are usually created to celebrate a family or in memoriam of a loved one. Currently, the Endowment Program has over 20 Named Scholarships that are managed by the Omega Nu Endowment committee. Donations are invested by a trust and investment firm who meet with the committee annually. To create a named fund, the endowment giver agrees to gift at least $25,000 initially, which translates to an approximate $1000 annual Scholarship.  The best part is that Omega Nu screens all candidates and manages the fund ongoing. All the giver does is name the Fund/Scholarship!
